Affiliate marketing is the term given for selling products on line as an “affiliate”. There are thousands of affiliate programs where you can sign up for free, they then give you a link to their website that has a special code in it that represents you. If you send someone to your affiliate’s website and they purchase a product, you earn a commission. Some product owners even pay up to 75% commission.
There are many people making a full time income solely through affiliate marketing. With billions of people surfing the web every day, the amount of money to be made is limitless. Even if you are doing novice affiliate marketing.
What is novice affiliate marketing?
Well novice affiliate marketing is obviously the techniques that are used by someone who is not very experienced or just starting out with affiliate marketing. There are many different novice affiliate marketing techniques. These techniques can be used by ANYONE to make money on line.
Here is the most popular of the novice affiliate marketing techniques:
1. Bum Marketing
Bum Marketing is a technique that requires literally no internet or web making skills at all. This is how I got started with affiliate marketing and is a really good way to start and to grow as a marketer.
Bum Marketing uses free techniques to get traffic to your site. There are many different third party websites that will allow you to set up a blog for free. Blogger, wordpress, squidoo, and live journal just to name a few. What you can do is set up a blog absolutely free. Then you pick an affiliate product that you think will sell well and has lower competition.
You set the blog up to promote the product. Many times people will do a review of the product. Then you use free ad websites, video marketing, social marketing, etc… to drive traffic to your site. If you have done well with your review, you will get your traffic to click on your affiliate link and buy the product. This is one of the most popular and effective novice affiliate marketing techniques.
The Key with bum marketing is to find a product that will solve someone’s problem. For instance, there are millions of people in the world with unruly dogs that they can’t get trained. So let’s say you were selling an e-book that taught owners to train their dogs.
What you would first need to do is find a set of keywords that get searches related to dog training. You want keywords that have little or no competition. There are several free keyword tools available. My favorite is nichebotclassic.com. It allows you to see how many searches a keyword is getting as well as the competition. When you are just starting out novice affiliate marketing, you want the lowest competition possible. Start off with “how to train a dog” and just think of anything that someone looking to train their dog would type into a search engine like Google.
Usually this means there won’t be a whole lot of searches for the term but that is alright because if you get 20 keyword phrases that are getting 5 searches a day. You are very quickly at 100 searches a day. We don’t have time to get into more detail here today but you can see how you can quickly and easily start making money even with novice affiliate marketing techniques and whence you get good at these you can move on to some more advanced techniques.
